Welcome to Gullwing

We are the team which takes care, that a legend can survive. Everybody in the world knows about the famous sports car that came to the public in February 1954 under the namef of Mercedes-Benz 300SL, a coupe with gullwing doors. Three years later, the convertible version of the car was presentedm the 300SL roadster. The original 300SL in the racing version followed the decision of Daimler Benz to come back to the racing environment and from its very first appearance, it was extremely successful in events like the Mille Miglia or 24 hours of Le Mans with famous drivers like Hermann Lang, Karl Kling or Hans Klenk. Due to the fantastic results in the races, mainly the American market asked for a civil version of the car and so the 300SL Gullwing was presented very shortly on the occasion of the Motorshow in New York in 1954. In the whole production period a total of 1400 Gullwings and 1858 roadsters were produced. About 200 of each version are still existing nowadays. By far these remaining cars could not meet the tremendous demand worldwide in these dreamcars an in addition, the ideas of comfort and wellbeing in a car had changed a little bit, like the wish for aircondition, more comfort etc. This brought some talented people in the US to the idea, to rebuild a version of this famous car, which looked exactly like the original one, but under the body modern equipment with all the advantages for comfort and safety was fitted. These cars were marketed mainly in the US under the name GULLWING both in coupe and convertible version.
